Nick Nickerson

He/him/they/them

500 Hour Certification
Inferno Hot Pilates Level 1, Boston, MA
2018 Inferno Hot Pilates Level 2, Portsmouth, Nh, 2019
Vinyasa Training, Portsmouth, NH, 2019

Nick started attending hot yoga classes when he was 22 years old, and found hot yoga to be an important part of his journey to sobriety. Nick learned to love and accept himself in the hot room, and he’ll never stop moving his body as a form of self-love. Nick loves the community and support that he found here at Steam House.

It’s very important to Nick to create space at Steam House that is accessible to all people. As a queer and transgender person he wants all the lgbtq folks to feel welcome. As a white person he is always working and learning how he can create space for and support black folks and other people of color in our community.

Nick loves Earl Grey tea and exploring new places on his bicycle.

He lives in a little town called Rollinsford right on the Salmon Falls River, which is walking distance to an organic farm. It is his own little piece of heaven.

Danielle Smith

She/hers

200 hr RYT, Unity Power Yoga School

Danielle has been practicing yoga off and on for 10 years, but fell into her love of the practice when she needed it the most. After the birth of her two boys, she found herself navigating motherhood with newly diagnosed autoimmune conditions. The hot room was where she learned to move, breathe, recondition, strengthen, listen and make peace with the body that (at times) didn’t feel like hers. Not only did hot yoga provide to be physically beneficial, but through dedication to her practice she experienced a profound mental shift as well. For Danielle, yoga is a gift and linking movement to breath allows us to get out of our thinking mind and explore ourselves without judgment.

Yoga is for everyBODY. Danielle’s goal is to encourage and teach students how to create a practice that serves their own needs. Every student is unique and she’s passionate about providing the space for students to tap in and create a movement practice that is dynamic and evolving (regardless of physical abilities). Trained in all yoga modalities through Unity Power Yoga School, she can guide you through a variety of classes including power vinyasa, yin, flow to yin, and restorative. You can expect high energy, a fire playlist, creative sequencing, and quirky comments as she brings her most authentic self to each and every class.

The yoga mat is a mirror of who we really are…. she’s excited to meet you there!

Tia LOVES a solid upper body workout - and she gets that through yoga, pilates, strength training, and working on the farm. She and her fiance/future hubby run a small farm in Nottingham, NH. They have lots of chickens, bees, fruit trees, and specialize in maple syrup!

In addition to teaching yoga, Tia works full time as the Director of Community Partnerships at Whittier Tech in Haverhill, MA. Ari Chicklis

She/hers

200 RYT Hot Asana Yoga University, 2019

Ari Chicklis began practicing yoga as a way to cope with her lifelong struggle with anxiety. For Ari, yoga is a place of stillness and of movement, of quiet introspection and of curious exploration. The physicality of the practice allows the mind, body and spirit to be completely present, working in concert.

Through creative sequencing and a focus on unifying breath to movement, she strives to create an environment where students can build strength, confidence, and tools that they can utilize on the mat and in their daily lives.

Ari has two black belts in martial arts, a Master’s Degree in Education, is currently working towards a degree in Exercise Science, and can be found laughing and imagining with her two sons.

Ashely Lotterhand

she/ hers

Les Mills Body Flow
Barre Above

A lifelong athlete and dancer, Ashley’s passion for fitness started a decade ago when she started taking group fitness classes at a local gym. For her, the energy in the room surrounded by other students was what made a good workout a great one. It was only a matter of time before she became a certified instructor. That was 8 years ago and she has been teaching Yoga, Pilates, and Barre in some form at local studios ever since. Nearly a decade later, Ashely still enjoys watching her students grow stronger and more confident with each class. Yoga is an opportunity to stretch, relax, and definitely sweat a bit. She believes that moving your body each day is a privilege and something that will leave you feeling infinitely better in body and mind. Simply showing up on the mat can be the hardest part, but the only workout you'll regret is the one you didn't do. When you say "namaste" at the end of each class you'll feel better than before you started and always leave happy that you came and challenged yourself.

Rachel Castellez- Davidson

500 Hour RYT
25 HR Restorative Yoga
25 HR Yin Yoga
50 HR Yoga Anatomy
Certified Trauma Informed, Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator

Rachel received her RYT 200 in February 2021 and since then has continued her yoga education journey by certifying in multiple styles of yoga.

Rachel is a “Trauma Informed Facilitator”, who loves teaching power and hot vinyasa, particularly unique vinyasa flows and funky posture transitions, while cultivating a sense of grounding.

She feels very connected to, and takes great care in teaching, the practice of Yin Yoga. In addition to practicing yoga, she loves horseback riding, hiking, and running, and as a result has had personal experience with multiple physical injuries. After dozens of surgeries and other life-altering traumas, Rachel began practicing yoga through physical asanas and pranayama.

She chooses to see her experience with injuries as an advantage, as it provides her with the ability to both empathize and sympathize with students who may need additional assistance or modifications.

Rachel’s hope and intent is to meet students where they are in their personal yoga journey, and to provide a safe space where students can cultivate and thrive in their own unique yoga practice.

Shelby Phoenix

Yoga's most significant impact on my life was its revelation of the profound connection between my mind and body. This realization led me on a path of self-awareness and self-discovery, prompting me to seek a deeper understanding of my mental health beyond just anxiety.

I am dedicated to personal growth and lifelong learning. My ideal student is open to curiosity, embracing a growth mindset, and exploring their limits. I prioritize authenticity, encourage self-empowerment, emphasize self-compassion, and promote the practice of gratitude.

I tailor each class to the students present, adjusting the intensity and offering modifications for a fun and diverse experience. I don't take myself or the practice too seriously, prioritizing laughter and challenge.

I want my students to leave my classes feeling both challenged and relaxed, achieving a balance of physical and mental wellness. My ultimate goal as a yoga teacher is to help individuals make small transformations and take back their power, fostering growth and self-empowerment in each student.
